Umno sues PAS’ Mustafa Ali over sex video distribution allegation

PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali is being sued by Umno and two others over alleged libelous statements linking the party to the distribution of a sex video clip which shows a man resembling him.

The suit stated that Mustafa and his lawyer Asmuni Awi had caused the publication of five defamatory articles against Umno on April 12 and 13 in.

Umno executive secretary Datuk Ab. Rauf Yusoh filed the defamation suit Tuesday.

In the statement of claim, Umno said the offending words implied that the party was the mastermind behind the sex video clip and that it was distributed for election campaigning purposes.

Umno lead counsel Datuk Mohd Hafarizam Harun said the party wanted to make it clear that it had nothing to do with "gutter politics."

Mustafa, Asmuni and HarakahDaily chief editor Zulkifli Sulong were named as defendants.
