Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said he will not seek re-election for his Jelebu parliamentary in Negri Sembilan.
An avid social media user himself, the Information, Communication and Culture Minister tweeted at 11:08pm (Monday night) to his friends and supporters in his constituency that he will not be contesting in the general election and asking them to continue supporting the Barisan Nasional.
"Salam pada semua sahabat dan penyokong di Jelebu. Walaupun saya tak bertanding dlm PRU13 ni tolong sokong BN", he tweeted via his Twitter account @DrRaisYatim.

At press time, his tweet was retweeted 153 times and was the favourite of 13 users.
Even Umno Youth chief and former Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin responded to Rais's posting when, he tweeted "Thank you, Sir".
The posting confirms speculation that the 71-year-old veteran politician would be dropped from the Umno candidates list in Negri Sembilan.
The candidates list is set to be announced by the state BN chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan at 10am today.
