Two women fall victim in malls

A WOMAN was robbed and beaten up in a car park of a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, reported China Press.

The daily also highlighted the plight of another woman who was nearly abducted in a lift of another shopping centre, also in Kuala Lumpur, on Thursday.

In the first incident, a 41-year-old manager was dragged by a man to a staircase before being beaten and robbed of her purse.

The manager was getting into her car after having a facial treatment at the mall about 6pm.

Recounting the harrowing experience, she said she used her handbag to protect herself but the man continued to attack her.

Her screams attracted the attention of two men who came to her rescue, causing the man to snatch her purse, containing about RM300, and run.

The manager claimed that she had complained to the management of the shopping mall but “they did not seemed to be concerned”.

She claimed that they dismissed the matter, telling her that she was “merely unlucky” to have encountered such incident, it reported.

In the second case, a woman had entered a lift heading towards the car park of the shopping complex on Thursday.

There were three men in the lift. As soon as the door closed, one of the men grabbed her from behind while the two others threatened her not to scream.

However, the lift opened at another floor and the people who were waiting to get into the lift were shocked at what was going on. Seeing this, the three men ran off.

A police report has been lodged.
