Home-made grenade found outside recreational club in Raja Uda



A home-made grenade was found outside of a recreational club in Raja Uda here early this morning.

Seberang Perai Utara police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rahman Ibrahim said two security guards on duty had stumbled upon the grenade at 5.20am in front of the club’s main entrance.

“They saw a man threw a hand grenade wrapped in paper at the front door and sped off on a motorcycle,” he said

The guards quickly alerted the Mak Mandin police station and police arrived at the scene at 5.50am and cordoned off the area.


He said the hand grenade was later removed from the scene by the bomb disposal unit at 8.30am this morning.

“It is learnt that the grenade is meant to scare the club operators,” he said.
