"We will be constantly be in touch with the victim's family and we will help them in any way that we can," he noted.
It was reported that Pathmaraj was attacked in the early hours of Sunday morning along Jalan Raja Di Hilir, leaving him with serious injuries to the head.
The victim and his friends had stopped at a traffic light after having a drink, when a large gang abruptly surrounded the car they were travelling in.
The group of youths demanded Pathmaraj and his friends to handover their cell phones, before returning with a larger gang to demand more valuables.
When the victim refused, the gang began to vandalise the car, jumping on the roof and breaking the car's windows.
Pathmaraj then attempted to escape from the vehicle, where he was caught and beaten mercilessly by the gang.
