Body of Hannah Adeena Shaipuddin, 4, who drowned in a pool being taken to Hospital Tampin's mortuary for a post mortem
A 4-year-old girl drowned in a swimming pool at a recreational centre, near here, yesterday morning.
Hannah Adeena Shaipuddin was believed to have fallen while playing in the area unsupervised. The victim's sister discovered her body at the bottom of the pool about 11am after family members realised she was missing.
Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful and she was taken to Tampin Hospital in Negri Sembilan, where she was pronounced dead.
It is learnt that prior to the incident, Hannah Adeena, the youngest child of Shaipuddin Shafie and Saripah Gani, was said to have just finished swimming at the pool with her two older sisters Nursyara Adzmin, 16, and Nursyara Batrisya, 13, as well as her older brother Nazhan Yusof, 10.
At the time of the incident, Shaipuddin, 47, was attending a meeting in Jasin, while Saripah, 41, was with their eldest child Shafizal Azrin, 18, as he registered for college in Ayer Paabas.
Alor Gajah police chief Superintendent Umar Ali Saifuddin Shaharudin confirmed the incident, adding that investigations were on-going.
The victim's sister, Nursyara Adzmin, said after playing in the pool, the family had returned to the villa where they were staying without realising that Hannah Adeena had gone back to the pool by herself.
