A man who won almost RM11mil in a lottery will set the money aside for his children and charity.
Reportedly from Sibu, the man will donate a portion of his winnings to help others who are less fortunate.
“I will (also) keep aside some money for my children’s education fund,” said the man whose winnings totalled RM10,855,541.
His winning numbers were 9836 and 4068.
He was among the three people who became overnight millionaires after winning Magnum 4D Jackpots last month.
Magnum paid out RM21,119,725 in total to the winners, who had bet in separate draws.
The next winner, from Seremban, walked away with RM6,703,654 after his vehicle registration number scored the grand prize.
And he didn’t even know how to play the 4D Jackpot game until he asked a Magnum counter staff to explain it.
“I usually just placed a straight bet,” he said.
The third winner also struck it rich by playing his car registration number. He won the first prize, worth RM3,560,530.
“I was in shock. This is the first time in my life that I have won so much money. My wife and I could not sleep a wink that night,” said the man from Cheras, Selangor, who is in his early 40s.
A representative for Magnum said the Jackpot game had paid out more than RM500mil in total to 40 first prize winners since 2009.
“But this is the first time we have had three Jackpot first prize winners in a month,” said the representative.
