Selangor water supply to be restored in stages beginning today

Water supply is to be restored in phases beginning today until 8am on Friday to those affected by the disruption in supply owing to upgrading works at the Sungai Selangor Phase 1 water treatment plant by Syarikat Pengeluar Air Sungai Selangor (Splash).

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) said in a statement that Splash had informed that the works at the plant had been completed 2-1/2 hours earlier than scheduled.

As such, Syabas would fill the reservoirs earlier and water supply was expected to be restored to the system from 10pm last night.

Syabas said places on high ground and farther away were expected to have supply restored later compared to those on flat ground and nearer.

It advised consumers to use water sparingly during this period.

Further enquiries can be address to the Customer Service Centre (Puspel) at the toll-free line 1-800-88-5252 or by sending an SMS to 39222.

Consumers could also report to Syabas through its Twitter and Facebook accounts, it said.
