Police rescue abducted baby

POLICE rescued an 8-month-old baby girl, some 30 hours after she was abducted from her home in Johor by her Indonesian maid.
A police party raided a double-storey house in Taman Seri Jenjarom, here, on Monday afternoon where they found the baby.
Kuala Langat deputy police chief Deputy Superintendent Rizani Che Ismail said initial investigations revealed that the 24-year-old maid from Probolinggo, East Java, had fled her employer's house in Taman Impian Emas, Skudai about 6am on Sunday.

"The baby's 9-year-old brother saw the suspect, who was carrying his sister, getting into a taxi.
"Following a report lodged by the victim's foster mother, officers from Johor Baru North police headquarters launched an investigation and tracked down the maid and the baby to Jenjarom."
Kuala Langat police were then notified. They raided the premises and arrested the maid and her husband.
The maid had been working for the victim's mother for the past four months. It was also learnt that the maid's husband, a 47-year-old labourer had gone to Skudai in a taxi to pick them up.
The baby was identified as Putri Nurqaleesya Ixara Wan Mohammad, was reunited with her foster mother at the Johor Baru North police station on Monday night.
The foster mother, Rafidah Mohamed, 36, and her foster sister, Tunisah Kassim, 41, were overjoyed at being reunited with the baby. They took the baby to her biological father, Wan Mohammad Farid, at Taman Pulai Indah here, about 11am yesterday.
According to Wan Mohammad, a divorcee, he allowed Rafidah and Tunisah to take care of his child due to his busy work schedule.
