SeX Tape Woman in video quizzed

Police have recorded a statement from the woman in the sex video which implicates Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said.

He said the police have also compiled sufficient evidence on the man who appeared in the video.

Based on the investigation and expert opinion, he said, the police had no doubt that the video was authentic.

“The video did not have any element of being fake, superimposed or copied from other sources.

“We are also confident of the identity of the man in the sex video,” he said after witnessing the handing-over ceremony of duties to the new Deputy Inspector-General of Police in Bukit Aman yesterday.

“We have also recorded statements from all the people who may assist in the investigation into the case, including the woman in the video,” Ismail said.

The investigation was expected to be completed next week as the police awaited a report from an overseas expert to determine the authenticity of the Omega watch which the Datuk T trio had handed to the police.

“Once our investigation is completed, we will refer it to the Attorney-General for further action,” he added.

Asked whether the people in the video could be charged if the video was recorded overseas, Ismail said the police would make sure that the investigation was in line with the Evidence Act and Criminal Procedure Code.

“Whether the video was filmed in Malaysia or not, it does not matter as the authenticity of the video is more important,” he said.

On March 21, several editors and journalists were shown a 22-minute video, showing a man resembling the Opposition Leader having sex with a woman.

The source who identified himself only as “Datuk T” claimed that the video was recorded on Feb 21 in a local hotel room.

Meanwhile, Bernama reported that Anwar stopped his ceramah in the interior area of Kapit, Sarawak, after a longhouse chief asked him about his sodomy case, the sex video and his Omega watch.

Anwar, who had spoken for 20 minutes, left abruptly after longhouse chief Edison Bugap asked him to explain, according to a resident.

Anwar reportedly told the 120-strong crowd that they should be more worried about logging and seizure of their native customary rights land.
