Body in closet case: Relative nabbed over death of caterer- Alleged triangle love may happen.

A love triangle is believed to have led to the murder of a 39-year-old mother of two, Fazlina Ahmad, whose body was found stuffed in a closet in her house at Taman Pinggiran Ukay on Wednesday.The victim was believed to have died from suffocation about nine hours from the discovery of the body in the master bedroom.

Police today announced that they are anxious to contact a relative of the victim, identified as Mohafri Mohamed, 37, to assist police investigations into the murder.

A post mortem report showed that Fazlina, a caterer had been found bundled in a blanket in a cupboard with her hands and legs bound and mouth tapped, she had died of suffocation.

A day after Fazlina's body was found, a woman in her 20's had surrendered herself and remanded to help police investigations.

It is understood that the woman who was detained is the girlfriend of the man sought by police.

In releasing Mohafri's photograph today, Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Abdul Jalil Hassan also urged him to come forward and contact police.

He said police believe Mohafri is still in the Klang Valley and in contact with some of his family members.

A close relative of the 39-year-old caterer who was found murdered in her house at Taman Pinggiran Ukay, Ampang, on Wednesday was arrested today by police following a tip-off.

Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Abdul Jalil Hassan who had earlier released the photo of the 37-year-old man to the media said the suspect was nabbed opposite Zoo Negara at Ampang at 8.30pm - four days after he went into hiding following the death of Fazlina Ahmad, 39.

He said the man, who is being held at the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters, will be remanded tomorrow.

The area he was spotted loitering was not far from his house where Fazlina's body was found bundled in a blanket and stuffed in a cupboard.

She was also gagged with masking tape and her limbs were bound.

A post-mortem report showed she had died of suffocation.

Abdul Jalil said police believe a love triangle could have led to the murder of the mother of two.

Two days after her body was found, the suspect's girlfriend, who is in her 20s surrendered herself to police.

The woman, whom the man had befriended a year ago when she worked for his catering business, has been remanded to help in the probe.

It is learnt that police are confident of solving the case following the latest development in the probe.
