William's father Yau Kok Kang and mother Goh Ying Ying.
A Coroner's Court here ruled that the death of six-year-old William Yau Zhen Zhong, who was found floating in Sungai Sireh in Port Klang on Jan 24, was due to misadventure.
The decision by the court on Thursday disproved a theory that William was was murdered or abused by his family.
Coroner Mohd Hezri Shaharil however said the court dismissed any criminal elements, including that of the parents.
However, he said the court did not dismiss the probability of negligence by the parents.
"The court decided the cause of William's death was due to misadventure and therefore the case is closed," he said when delivering his judgement.

Fisherman tells coroner how boy's body was brought to main jetty
PETALING JAYA: A FISHERMAN related how he was having tea with his friends in a stall on Jan 24 when they saw the body of a boy floating in the river about 50m away from where they were.
Satarudin Kamal, 45, said they ran and tied a rope round the feet of the body, which was decomposed with the eyes missing and pulled it using a small boat to the main jetty at Kampung Sungai Sireh in Port Klang.
Satarudin was giving evidence in the inquest of 6-year-old William Yau Zhen Zhong, who went missing for about a week before his body was found floating in Sungai Klang early this year.
