Kg Buah Dada Gobala told to leave Dewan Rakyat

Former PKR MP N Gobalakrishnan (Independent-Padang Serai) was asked to leave the Dewan Rakyat this morning by deputy speaker Wan Junaidi Wan Jaafar after raising a ruckus in the House today.

He was asked to leave and return only after the lunch break, after he refused repeated orders by the deputy speaker to stand down.

A shouting match had broken out after Gobalakrishnan interrupted Karpal Singh (DAP-Bukit Gelugor) as the DAP leader was seeking clarification from Wan Junaidi over the rejection in chambers of his motion to censure Khairy Jamaluddin (BN-Rembau).

Karpal's motion was to discuss Khairy's tweet poking fun at allegations of sexual misconduct by the son of Penang Chief Minister and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

Racist Gobala departure welcome, says PKR

PKR today called N. Gobalakrishnan “racist” and accepted the Padang Serai MP’s exit from the party.

Gobalakrishnan quit PKR last Saturday, citing dissatisfaction with the party leadership, especially de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“Leaders who are trapped in the old racist mindset are not suitable to be in Keadilan, which is a progressive multi-racial party,” PKR communications director Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad told reporters today.

“Padang Serai MP N. Gobalakrishnan...has repeatedly accused Keadilan of marginalising the Indian community. Many Keadilan leaders have responded to Gobala specifically and proven his accusation wrong,” he added.

Nik Nazmi pointed that Gobalakrishnan’s accusations emerged after his failed vice-presidency bid.

Gobalakrishnan quits PKR

Gobalakrishnan resign from PKR previous MIC youth leader.

Renegade PKR leader N. Gobalakrishnan today quit all party posts, and said he would focus on a new organisation, after months of agitating party leaders.

The announcement by the Padang Serai MP was made this morning on micro-blogging site Twitter.

“Good morning to all Malaysians. I hereby resign from all PKR party posts. I will continue my work through a new NGO,” Gobalakrishnan said.

PKR leaders refute Gobala’s criticisms

PKR leaders have refuted criticisms by N. Gobalakrishnan, saying the Padang Serai MP could face a defamation suit if he persists with his diatribe.

Selangor state executive councillor Dr Xavier Jeyakumar said the party renegade’s claims were not true that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had refused to re-open the Sivan temple in Bukit Gasing, thus failing the Indian community and being anti-Hindu.

He clarified that the de facto leader had nothing to do with the shutting down of the temple.

Jeyakumar added that a stop-work order was issued in December 2008, but was later moved in January.

Gobalakrishnan has been on a rampage against the party leadership via microblogging site Twitter over the past weeks, centring most of his attacks on Anwar and newly-elected deputy president Azmin Ali by saying they were “cheating and bluffing the Indians”.

PKR MP Gobala makes quit threat over polls collusion

PKR supreme council member N. Gobalakrishnan threatened to quit the party today, alleging that party vice-president Azmin Ali and several top leaders had formed a “cartel” to tamper with the party elections.

The Padang Serai MP called on the party’s central election committee to immediately step in to stop what he described as meddling in the party’s fractious divisional elections, before adding that he would quit if they failed to meet his demand.

“Today, I am coming out with the statement to ask the committee to immediately solve all problems pertaining to the divisional elections. I want them to be fair, transparent and neutral to all.

“If this continues, then there is no point staying. If the elections can be manipulated by individuals in this way.

“For the past 11 years, I have stood firm with the party, this is the first time I am standing in front a camera to say this. They can call me a traitor or a Trojan (horse) but I will stand strong.... but if this continues, I do not think I should stay,” he told reporters in Parliament today.

Gobalakrishnan demanded for PKR’s election committee to stamp out interference in the ongoing party polls
