Pakatan Rakyat to sue Election Commission over indelible ink
Pakatan Rakyat (PR) will file a civil suit against the Election Commission (EC) on Monday over the use of indelible ink in Election 2013, Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar said today.
The PKR vice president said EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf and deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar have allegedly lied regarding the indelible ink, making contradicting statements regarding its silver nitrate content.
“We have necessary documents and evidence against the EC. You cannot keep changing your statements regarding the silver nitrate from 5 to 7 per cent to only one per cent and later it is akin to food colouring,” she told an electoral forum organised by the Malaysian Bar Council here.

State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Hamza Taib reportedly confirmed this with Astro Awani today but did not offer further information on why the ban was retracted.

“As far as the police have mentioned, no other individuals were banned apart from Nurul. But even then, that ban has been retracted,” DCP Hamza told the station.

Nurul Izzah rubbishes claims of planned Sabah protest
Federal lawmaker Nurul Izzah Anwar, barred from entering Sabah on Thursday, described allegations that PKR planned to have a demonstration at KDCA “as fabricated and utterly ridiculous”.
“The allegations are meant to tarnish my character and justify the unjustifiable deportation of BN dissenters,” she said in a brief message.
“I deplore the fact that the Sabah Barisan Nasional government is repeating such fabrication without an ounce of responsible fact-finding,” she added.
The Lembah Pantai MP and PKR vice president was responding to an article in Borneo Insider quoting sources that she was planning to head a PKR demonstration at the KDA during the state-wide Kaamatan.
Her denial comes soon after Penampang MP Darell Leiking said that the accusation is a “lie and rifled with speculation”.

Lembah Pantai MP claims all the force does is spy on everybody

"What is the job of the security forces? Their job is to spy on the rakyat. Their job is to spy on the PKR leaders. Their job, on the whole, is to ensure BN (Barisan Nasional) stays successful... until our borders in Lahad Datu, Sabah, were inflitrated.

Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia products not as cheap as advertised

Nurul Izzah showing 1Malaysia store goods not as cheap as other hypermarket.
Several Pakatan Rakyat MPs questioned the prices of goods sold at the Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia (KR1M) outlets, alleging that some are not as cheap as advertised to the public.
Pakatan MPs who brought samples of grocery products to Parliament to prove their point today said while some products were indeed cheaper, some on the other hand, were not.
Tony Pua (DAP-Petaling Jaya Utara) said the items – ranging from canned sardines to dish-washing liquid – were priced higher than certain hypermarkets.
"The price difference for most products is far off from the claims of 30%-50% less," Pua told a press conference.

Nurul Izzah: Explain RM1b sewage plant upgrading project
Nurul Izzah Anwar has urged the Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry to clarify if it is awarding an upgrading project of a sewage treatment plant by direct negotiation for RM1 billion.
The Lembah Pantai MP said today the RM1 billion price tag for the plant, which is located in her constituency, was double the cost estimated by Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd officials about two years ago.
“I am concerned that to my knowledge there was no open tender exercise ever being called for the upgrading work at the Pantai 2 sewage treatment plant,” Nurul Izzah (picture) told reporters today.
“What alarms me “What alarms me most is the indication that the project will be awarded for a price tag of RM1 billion, 100 per cent more expensive than a market estimate of the cost,” she said.

After watching video, Wan Azizah declares Anwar innocent
Wan Azizah speaks to the press today, April 5, 2011 about the controversial sex clip. On the right is her daughter Nurul Izzah Anwar
Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said today that she and family members are convinced after watching a two-minute clip of a sex video that the man in the recording is not her husband Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
A portion of the video purportedly showing Anwar having sex was uploaded on YouTube on Sunday.
Wan Azizah said today the clip was clear evidence that Anwar was innocent as the man featured did not resemble her husband.
“It is clear that the body and physique of the actor is different than the body and physique of Anwar,” she told reporters at her residence while surrounded by her family members.
“When he was in jail, what else could he do but exercise,” she said, referring to Anwar’s previous statement that “the stomach of the man was much bigger than” his.
