Kpl Jenain Subi, who has been charged with causing the death of 15-year-old Aminulrasyid Amzah, agreed when it was suggested to him Friday that nowhere in the Inspector-General of Police's Standing Orders (IGSO) did it state that a police officer could open fire on a traffic offender.
When cross-examined by deputy public prosecutor Idham Abd Ghani Friday, Jenain agreed with the suggestion that the call for assistance did not say that (the people in) the white Proton Iswara had committed a criminal offence, and to open fire at it.
On Thursday, Jenain had told the court that situations in which the IGSO allowed a police officer to open fire included robbery, house break-ins, kidnap, rape, sodomy and self-defence.

Jenain, 48, was charged with causing 15-year-old Aminulrasyid's death between 1.10am and 2am on April 26, last year, at Jalan Tarian 11/2, Section 11 here.
He was charged under Section 304(a) of the Penal Code which carries a maximum jail sentence of 30 years, and could be fined, if convicted.
The prosecution had called 39 witnesses to testify in the trial, which began on Oct 12 last year.
Zafrullah Ahmad Zainal Abidin who lives about 30 metres away from Aminulrasyid Amzah recounted the sounds of exploding firecrackers and police sirens splitting the early morning silence last April 26 moments before the 14-year-old crashed and died.
The 28-year-old resident of Section 11 here testified this afternoon at the Shah Alam Sessions Court. He is the first person from the public to give an eyewitness account of the events leading to Aminulrasyid’s death.
“I heard sounds like firecrackers exploding and the police siren heading in my direction,” the youth said on Day 3 of the Aminulrasyid shooting trial.
“It sounded like tat, tat-tat-tat-tat, tat,” the neighbour said in an attempt to mimic the exploding sounds.
There were more than ten such bursts at one- to two-second intervals, he related. They went on for about 20 to 30 seconds.
“It sounded like it was coming from behind me,” said Zafrullah, who was doing some work on his computer on the upper level of his double-storey bungalow in Jalan Silat Gayong 11/3A at about 1.30am April 26.
The firecracker-like sounds were interspersed with the wail of police sirens, he noted.
“It got louder as it got closer,” he added.

Aminulrasyid Amzah’s family lawyer today slammed police for not bothering to inform them that a policemen was to be charged for the fatal shooting of the 14-year-old schoolboy.
“We are appalled that neither the police nor the Attorney-General’s Chambers had kept the family or their lawyers informed that a suspect was going to be charged today,” lawyer N. Surendran said.
He said that police and the AG had failed to realise that Aminulrasyid and his family were victims in the case and had the right to be kept informed about developments.

Aminulrasyid Amzah was quite simply a quiet, diminutive 14-year-old schoolboy, according to those who lived around him and who saw him last.
If he was part of your school-yard group, he would have been one of the followers. Not the one everyone bullied but certainly not the one with the zaniest jokes, the one who got all the girls’ phone numbers or the one who shaped opinions.
He is remembered as being a part of the many regular groups of schoolboys who roamed the neighbourhood after class. Who ate out with their families at the community’s food court and who haunted the cybercafés.
In essence, he was part of the scenery of Shah Alam’s Section 11. One of this Malay-Muslim city’s oldest neighbourhoods and which is known for its seamless mix of working class and upscale houses.

A lawyer representing Azamuddin Omar is demanding a probe into what he claims was the attempted murder and assault of the key-witness in the fatal shooting of Aminulrasyid Amzah.
“A separate investigation must be launched based on his account of what happened that night,” said N. Surendran, who is among the lawyers representing the 15-year-old witness.
The son of a police sergeant was in the car with the 14-year-old Aminulrasyid when the latter was shot in the back of the head after a car chase with police, last Monday.
The spotlight so far has been on the fatal police shooting of the Form Three student, with Azamuddin’s escape and alleged assault by policemen being so far ignored.
The owner of the car that was grazed by 14-year-old Aminulrasyid Amzah before the teenager was shot by the police last week has lodged a police report confirming the incident.
Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad said the motorcyclist who collided with the car Aminulrasyid was driving on April 26 had also lodged a police report, corroborating the version given by Azamuddin Omar, who was in the car with Aminulrasyid when the latter was shot.
“The boys panicked and fled the scene and were pursued by the car owner’s friends on three motorcycles,” said Khalid in a press conference Thursday.
The passenger who was with 14-year-old Aminulrasyid Amzah when he was shot dead by police last week, has cast doubts over a police allegation that the latter had had tried to ram the car into police personnel.
"When he was shot, his body fell on my lap, but his foot was still on the accelerator. So the car continued moving and the police kept on firing shots," he told a press conference at Aminulrasyid's family home in Shah Alam this afternoon.
Recounting the incident, Azamuddin Omar, 15, said the Proton Iswara eventually crashed into a wall, after which the police continued shooting.
This was his first public statement on the incident.
Senior lawyer Karpal Singh, acting on behalf of the family of Aminulrasyid Amzah - the teen shot dead by police last week - will write to the attorney-general, urging him to consider charging the officers involved with murder.
"I will write to the AG to find out from him what his position is and also to urge him - in view of the evidence given by the star witness - that the charge which ought to be framed is one of murder," he said.
"Prima facie, it appears to be a clear case of homicide. If the car landed in a (drain) then it could not have been reversed into police personnel (causing them to fire in self-defence)," he told reporters in Shah Alam this afternoon.
Karpal spent about 10 minutes examining the scene of the incident with the help of 15-year-old Azamuddin Omar, who was in the car driven by the deceased in the early hours of April 26.
The special panel formed to probe the fatal shooting of teenager Aminulrasyid Amzah, have gotten their hands dirty and went to the ground yesterday night to do some sleuthing work of their own.
Headed by Deputy Home Minister Abu Seman Yusop, the eight-men panel started their field work by visiting some key areas in Shah Alam and following the trail that Aminulrasyid and his friend took before the bloodshed early last Monday morning.
The panel members started their 6km journey from a mamak restaurant in Section 7 where the 14-year-old and his friend were watching football late at night to the Kayangan roundabout, where they had allegedly grazed a car.
The panel also stopped by the areas where the police started chasing the Proton Iswara driven by the teen, as well as the exact location where the first shot was fired just about 500m from where the victim lived, before stopping at the final destination when the car hit a tree and crashed into a drain in Jalan 11/2, Section 11.
The panel, which included former inspector-general of police Mohammed Haniff Omar, also spoke to the witnesses in the neighbourhood, who also gave their versions of what transpired.
Businessman Wan Rahim Tajuddin, whose house was the exact spot Aminulrasyid had finally crashed into, told the panel members that he heard a loud crash outside his house but assumed nothing much out of it.
"It was only the next day when the neighbours were talking about it and they told me of the drama. They said that it was like a TV3 drama," he said.
He also recounted that Aminulrasyid was a good friend of his son and that he used to send the two boys together to their part-time jobs in McDonald's.
"They also used to play futsal until late to the point where I had to drag the both of them home," he said, adding that the clique were football maniacs.
The special panel, formed just last week, was not exactly subtle in their turun padang effort. They were escorted by a police outrider, along with a convoy of nearly 5 police cars and numerous other journalists who followed their journey.
When they stopped at Section 11 where Aminulrasyid finally died, there were roughly 30 journalists, scores of policemen and numerous curious onlookers in the otherwise quiet and upper-class neighbourhood.
But their work is not done, said Abu Seman.
"So far we are quite satisfied with what we have seen here but it is still not conclusive," he said.
The panel will only monitor the police investigation, to make sure that it is transparent and fair to all parties, as well as reviewing the standard operating procedure of the police when discharging their weapons while on duty.
In the 2am incident, Aminulrasyid was shot in the back of the head when police opened fire into the car in a chase. The passenger, meanwhile has disputed the police version of the incident, who had earlier claimed that the boys tried to ram into the police car.
The key witness in the police shooting of Aminulrasyid Amzah has been called in today for questioning by the police for the third time.
According to lawyer for Aminulrasyid's family N Surendran, the deceased's friend, Azamuddin Omar, 15, will have to report to the Selangor police headquarters in Shah Alam at 4.30pm.
Previously, Azamuddin was questioned by the police for three hours on April 28 and again for 30 minutes on May 1. Azamuddin was the passage in the vehicle driven by Aminulrasyid during the incident.
The quest for the truth behind the fatal shooting of Aminulrasyid Amzah, 14, has begun with an eight-member panel questioning senior police officials .
The panel will summon investigation papers and witnesses at any point of the police investigations into the April 26 shooting in Shah Alam.
It will also evaluate the Standard Operating Procedure on the discharge of firearms by policemen on duty.

CHOKED with emotion, the student who was with Aminulrasyid Amzah on the morning he was shot dead during a police chase on April 26 today went public with his account of what happened.
Azamuddin Omar, 15, said Aminulrasyid’s fear of being reprimanded by his family for driving his sister’s car without her consent was what made his friend ignore police orders to pull over during the high-speed pursuit, which ultimately led to his death.
