Datuk Wira Chor Chee Heung was appointed the new Housing and Local Government Minister while Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha replaced Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat as Transport Minister in a minor Cabinet reshuffle today.Chor replace Kong as Kong get the Transport Minister post.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced the appointments today, which are seen as a reflection of the recent MCA elections which saw Ong lose the presidency to former Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak announced a cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday, dropping Malaysian Transport Minister Ong Tee Keat who lost in his bid for the Malaysia Chinese Association (MCA) presidency earlier this year.

While Ong was replaced by Malaysian Housing and Local Government Minister Kong Cho Ha, the latter's vacated position was filled by Chor Chee Heung, who was Malaysian Deputy Finance Minister.

The MCA, a political party run solely by Malaysians of Chinese descent, is one of the component parties of the country's ruling coalition.

According to Najib's statement issued on Tuesday, two members of parliament (MPs) and four senators were appointed deputy ministers.

Recap : Lawyer: Bala First statutory declaration made voluntarily II -Najib denies affair with Altantuya



Lawyer Americk Singh Sidhu denied that private investigator P Balasubramaniam affirmed his first sworn statement under duress.

Speaking to reporters at the PKR headquarters in Tropicana, Petaling Jaya today, Americ said that Balasubramaniam's statutory declaration filed on July 1 2008 was made voluntarily.

 

Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today denied allegations that he had links with murdered Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu as claimed by a private detective.

Reading out from a prepared statement at a packed press conference in Parliament this evening, the embattled deputy premier reiterated that he had never met or knew Altantuya.

He dismissed the statutory declaration filed by private eye P Balasubramaniam, who was hired by Najib's close associate Abdul Razak Baginda to deal with the Altantuya problem, as "concocted" claims.
