Dr Alice says that women want to tighten their vaginas to enhance sexual gratification. - See more at:

These days, it’s not just your nose or eyes that can be “improved” with cosmetic surgery. Now women can opt to have more attractive or even designer vaginas.

In fact, vaginal rejuvenation is a multi-million ringgit industry that has expanded in the last five years due to the emergence of non-surgical procedures like Fractional CO2 laser, surgical threads and dermal fillers.

But what is an attractive vagina? As described by aesthetic physicians, it is tight and light-skinned with symmetrical inner labia sheared to tiny strips of skin that cannot be seen while standing, almost akin to a Barbie doll.

Cosmetic vaginal surgery is becoming increasingly popular among middle-class women in Malaysia who desire tighter, fairer and neater genitalia to boost their self-confidence and sexual satisfaction.

“For most women, after giving birth or having many sexual partners, your body is not able to repair the looseness of the vagina,” cosmetic surgeon Dr Alice Prethima Michael told The Malay Mail Online in a recent interview.

An unprecedented move by the government to use Umno lawyer Datuk Seri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah as the lead prosecutor in the appeal against the acquittal of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the sodomy case has raised eyebrows as this could lead to more charges of this being a politically-motivated case.

Shafee told the three-man Court of Appeal bench chaired by Datuk Ramly Ali that he was appointed by the Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail.

He is replacing former solicitor-general II Datuk Mohd Yusof Zainal Abiden who led the prosecution team in the trial stage.

Shafee, a former deputy public prosecutor before he went into private practice, told reporters that he received a letter from Abdul Gani on July 11 to lead the prosecution team.

"My appointment is in accordance with the Federal Constitution and the Criminal Procedure Code. The AG is the only person, and not even the prime minister, who can direct me on this," he said.

Five DAP reps suspended by Malacca Speaker over MCA claims

Five DAP lawmakers were suspended six months by the state legislature today for staging a walkout yesterday in protest of the Speaker’s decision to allow media photographers in the chambers when a Barisan Nasional (BN) lawmaker accused Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng of an affair with a former aide.

Lim’s wife, Betty Chew, was among the five DAP assemblymen suspended for the walkout.

The Penang chief minister had earlier today denied the allegation while taking a swipe at his political rivals in the MCA by asserting that “Lim Guan Eng is not Chua Soi Lek.”

Lim’s barb was made in reference to MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek being forced to admit in 2008 that he had an extramarital affair after video recordings of his tryst were publicly leaked.

All of us were fully clothed, say army vets

The "butt exercises" event at Bersih co-chairman Datuk S. Ambiga's house was only a form of "healthy exercise" by 10 former army personnel, said the Malaysian Armed Forces Veteran Association (PVTM).

Its president, Mohd Ali Baharom, who was one of the 10, said they did not define their behaviour on Tuesday as sexual harassment as "all of us were fully clothed".

"If she didn't like us being there, surely she would not have offered us drinks. She would have totally ignored us," he said, "but she even spoke with us and accepted a poster we gave her."

Ambiga had reportedly said she only greeted the protesters and offered them drinks because she was trying to emulate Mahatma Gandhi's footsteps in "responding with kindness to those against you".

Sex, babies and books

Too graphic: Khairun believes there is a distinction between children’s sex educational books and pornography and he believes the book Where Did I Come From? is of the latter category. — Bernama

Many parents dread it when their young ones ask them where they came from. Some parents relied on a children's sex education book aptly titled Where Did I Come From? but the book has since been banned for its graphic content.

MUMMY, where did I come from?” When her daughter asks this question, says a freelance copywriter who wishes to be known only as Suet, she will be prepared with the right answer.

“I will talk about sex with my daughter as soon as she starts asking questions,” says Suet, 29.

“I would rather my child learned about sex from me than from other sources such as the media.”

Sexing things up at the movies - Local filmmakers tend to inject steamy and controversial scenes in their movies to draw in a bigger audience. But does this tactic work? Read more: Sexing things up at the movies

Aku Masih Dara

SEX scenes in local movies are usually very tame, just enough to create a little controversy and boost ticket sales.

In 2006, a controversial scene involving Farid Kamil and Julia Hana in bed not only sparked controversy but helped the film Remp-It, directed by Ahmad Idham Admad Nazri, to rake in RM4 million at the box office.

In 2008, James Lee's horror film Histeria showed a brief lesbian kissing scene between Nurliana Samsuddin and Scha Al-Yahya. That set tongues wagging and the movie made RM3 million.

The next year, Syamsul Yusof's controversial film, Bohsia Jangan Pilih Jalan Hitam, collected a handsome RM4 million at the box office.

Since then, local film producers are continuing to include such scenes in their movies. This adds "spice" to their movies and they hope that people will come in droves to watch it.
