The education authorities in Egypt have given the green light for Malaysian students to return to their campuses, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said.
He said the ministry had contacted the universities and authorities in Egypt following the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak.
Khaled said the ministry was told that the students’ safety could only be secured within campus grounds.
“However, their safety cannot be guaranteed outside the university as the authorities are unable to control circumstances off campus,” he said after attending the World Kite Festival in Pasir Gudang here yesterday.
