GENTING BUS TRAGEDY UPDATE: Police call off search for bodies



Police have called off the search and rescue operation for victims of the bus crash incident, which killed 37 people and severely injured 16 others, at Km3.5 in Jalan Genting near Chin Swee Temple.

Bentong district police chief Superintendent Mohd Mansor Mohd Nor said the police were now concentrating on finding belongings of the bus passengers.

"We have dispatched a team comprising 15 men from general operation force and six fire fighters to comb the area for belongings of the bus passengers.

"The team would also gather input to help find ways on how to remove the bus from the ravine," he said when met at the scene.

Mohd Mansor also denied rumours that there were still bodies trapped under the bus.

"This is not true. However, our team found two body parts," he said.
