The bullet-riddled body of a 47-year-old fish seller, who was reported missing since Aug 18, was found at Kampung Buntut Pulau here on Friday night.

The body of Abd Majid Abd Rahman was found by villagers near a sand dredging pump at Kampung Buntut Pulau here about 9.05pm.

Pahang Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zakaria Ahmad said post-mortem results revealed he was shot seven times at close range to his head, chest, shoulders and thighs.

He said the victim's wife who reported the disappearance, claimed he left their home at Taman Setia Temerloh on Aug 18.

"She went out to look for him on Aug 21 but only found his Proton Perdana near the sand dredging area," he said.
