Rafizi takes up Barisan MPs challenge to repeat allegations on indelible ink outside Dewan

Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli has taken up the dare by Barisan Nasional MPs to repeat his allegations outside Parliament against Election Commission (EC) chief Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof and his deputy in deals involving supply of the indelible ink.

"I am making the allegations outside Dewan as advised by Dewan Rakyat Speaker and due to the challenge of Barisan lawmakers," he told reporters at a press conference at Parliament lobby on Thursday.

Earlier, Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia rejected a motion Datuk Reezal Merican (BN-Kepala Batas) to refer Rafizi to the Rights and Privileges Committee under Rule 36(12) over his allegations made on Tuesday despite being denied by Abdul Aziz.

Reezal said that Raifizi failed to correct his allegations made in Dewan with intent and subsequently uploaded on YouTube with 80,000 views.

However, Pandikar rejected the motion as it was not the apt Rule by Reezal to cite for his motion as there was a two-day lapse when the incident occurred and that Rafizi believed in the veracity of his allegations.

He said the motion should have been brought under Rule 36(8) as Pandikar noted that Rafizi had breached the rule against making allegations against named individuals in Dewan as they are unable to rebut the allegations against them.

"My advise to you (Rafizi), is you are brave and sincere in your convictions, repeat the allegations outside Dewan so as to allow the individuals the opportunity to defend themselves in all fairness and justice," he said.

He also advised Rafizi to submit an application for a motion to debate the indelible ink issue instead of making the allegations.

Pandikar reminded lawmakers not to resort to making unfounded allegations individuals or Constitutional institutions.

Besides repeating the allegations outside Dewan, Rafizi said he would be filing a motion to debate the issue in the next sitting.
