Lim tried to give chase but failed to catch the robber.

Goh, who was semi-concious, was rushed to the Sungai Buloh Hospital.

Goh said she was still in pain and traumatised by the incident. She added that she dared not carry a handbag out now.

“I got my handbag from the night market and it cost only RM20. The thief still wanted to snatch it from me,” she said, adding that she had lodged a police report.

Federal Territory MCA deputy complaint bureau chief Tan Kok Eng urged Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar to set a time frame to bring down the crime rate.

Tan said he would submit a memorandum to the police regarding public safety in certain areas and hoped the police would beef up their patrol.
