During an interview with Sin Chew Daily, Lim said that Pakatan Rakyat is well prepared to accept the election result

Regardless of winning or losing the election, Pakatan Rakyat will adhere to the principle of democracy and accept the result openly and calmly, while hoping that the BN will face the result with the same attitude to lead Malaysia towards the true process of democratisation, DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang said.

"The 13th general election will be a touchstone of our country's democratic transformation and it offers an opportunity for our country to transform from an unnormal democratic country into a true democratic country. However, the most fundamental condition is, we must ensure a peaceful regime transition," he said.
Lim said that he never said that Pakatan Rakyat will certainly take over Putrajaya in this election. He believes, however, the election this time has indeed brought Malaysia a very strong opportunity to change.

When being asked about Pakatan Rakyat's winning odds in Johor, Lim answered, "very optimistic".
Hi disclosed that there will be a tour in Johor to strengthen the momentum with the target of gaining at least one-third of seats, namely nine parliamentary seats and 18 state seats, while moving on towards the goal of winning more seats.

He said that among the targeted one-third seats, the three parliamentary seats and six state seats in Johor Bahru city (Johor Bahru parliamentary seat, Pasir Guadang parliamentary seat and Tebrau state seat), as well as three parliamentary seats and seven state seats surrounding Johor Bahru city (Gelang Patah parliamentary seat, Pulai state seat and Kulai state seat) have accounted for six parliamentary seats and 13 state seats. Together with Kluang, Segamat and Bakri parliamentary seats, the target has covered areas from northern Johor to southern Johor.

Lim said that the situation in Johor is now different compared to the situation before the 2008 general election. The then people of Johor wished to change but were afraid to participate. This time, he can feel the wish of the people of Johor to catch up with the trend of change.
