No decision on Selangor MB yet, says PKR



PKR has yet to decide if Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will continue to lead Selangor as its mentri besar, a party leader said today.

Faekah Husin, who is Abdul Khalid’s political secretary, told The Malaysian Insider that the party will decide on the matter only after consultation with Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR) top leadership some time this week or next.

“Tan Sri has already said that we would have a meeting first. It will only be decided within a week or two,” she said.

As the party’s Selangor election chief, Abdul Khalid (picture) led PR to a big win in the May 5 polls, bagging 44 of the 56 state seats, eight more than what it won in Election 2008.

PKR, however, won only 14 seats while its allies, the DAP and PAS, both won 15 seats each, although observers believe the win reflected popular support for the first-term mentri besar.
