He added that another police report was lodged last night on the torching of a political party's office in Hulu Langat, Selangor.

The offence is punishable by up to seven years in jail or fine or both, upon conviction under the Penal Code, he said

He also advised party supporters not to obstruct or assault media personnel while they were covering the general election.

He further remarked that 93 reports related to general election issues had been lodged nationwide for yesterday alone, raising the total number received to 720 cases since the dissolution of Parliament on April 3.

Sixteen suspects have been detained and they were being investigated under Section 417 of the Penal Code for causing damage by mischief, he said.
