Traffic cop unconscious, hit by Mat Rempit



A TRAFFIC policeman is now fghting for his life after he was knocked down and hit on the head with a crash helmet by a Mat Rempit on Sunday.

South Klang police chief ACP Muhammad Mat Yusop said corporal Mustaghni Tabri, 48, remained unconscious since the incident.

"He is now on life support system and his family is waiting for the doctor's advice whether there will be a need for an operation," said Muhammad.

"We have yet to make any arrest but have launched a manhunt for the suspects," he said.

Earlier, Muhammad, accompanied by Federal Traffic police chief Datuk Abdul Aziz Yusof and Selangor police chief Datuk Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah, visited Mustaghni at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.

It was reported that Mustaghni was knocked down by an illegal racer and then hit on the head with a crash helmet by his pillion rider during an anti-illegal racing operation at Jalan Bunga Raya, Taman Gembira on Sunday morning.
