Fed-up with non-action by the Selangor government and Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ), disgruntled residents of Kampung Bunga Melor, 14th Mile, Puchong, handed over a memorandum and lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commision (MACC) calling for a probe into the construction of a condominium next to their homes.

Fourteen residents representing 27 families, led by Nambikai United Association president B. Kalai Vanar, claimed that their complaints over the past four years had fallen on deaf ears after Pakatan Rakyat took over the Selangor government.

"We are disappointed with MPSJ's unsympathetic reply to our complaints on the construction work that goes on until midnight and the dust affecting the residents.

"Some of the homes are also damaged, with cracks on the wall due to impact from the construction work. Several residents also fell ill from the effects of the construction.

"We lodge the report today as we suspect there is a 'link' between the developer and a council member in MPSJ," said Kalai Vanar outside the MACC headquarters here yesterday.

He said the developer's action showed a lack of respect and concern for the safety of the residents surrounding the development.

Kalai Vanar said the residents were frustrated over the lack of action by MPSJ, the state government and the developer.

"In 10 days, we will call a press conference to reveal the identity of the MPSJ councillor and a state exco member whom we suspect as having a "connection" with the developer

"We will reveal the extent of their involvement."

The memorandum was received by MACC senior superintendent Prem Raj Victor.

The statements of Kalai Vanar and several residents were recorded by MACC.
